The low-cost airline will carry out an institutional accord with the University of Barcelona on Friday the 13th to evaluate the agreement that offers exchange students with an ESNcard a 15% discount.
The agreement will count with the participation of the MEP (Member of the European Parliament), Ramon Tremosa, and the Ryanair Public Affairs Director, Diarmuid O' Conghaile, as well as ESN university representatives and volunteers.
The airline and the non-profit association that promotes student mobility started an exclusive partnership last August, which in less than 6 months, has surpassed 100,000 reservations.
Barcelona, April 6th, 2018 – The low-cost airline Ryanair celebrates the success of the agreement with the European student association Erasmus Student Network (ESN) in Barcelona. It has been one of the 10 chosen cities to host an assessment meeting of the deal with the non-profit association of student mobility.
On Friday the 13th of April, the University of Barcelona (UB) will host the presentations of MEP, Ramon Tremos, and the Ryanair Public Affairs director, Diarmuid O' Conghaile. The agreement will take place from 15.30h to 17h and will also count with the participation of ESN university representatives and volunteers.
At the end of May, 2017, the agreement between Ryanair and ESN, the largest European student mobility association, was announced unprecedented with the objective to promote mobility among young adults. The airline offers a 15% discount plus a checked bag free of charge for a total of 8 flights to those who possess an ESNcard; the ESN associate card.
The initiative has proved an absolute success. In less than 6 months since the implementation of this discount, it has exceeded 100,000 reservations. This meant the saving of 3.3 million euros. The exchange students in Milan, Madrid and Porto were the ones to make more reservations. Germany, Portugal, Italy and Poland were the most popular destinations in the ranking.
